4. The American Medical Association classifies obesity as a disease
In June, the AMA - the country's largest physician organization - officially voted to recognize obesity as a disease. In addition to this new policy, the AMA also determined a wide range of treatments and preventative measures to go along with the effort of reducing the high number of Americans who are currently overweight.

"Recognizing obesity as a disease will help change the way the medical community tackles this complex issue that affects approximately one in three Americans," said AMA board member Patrice Harris, M.D. "The AMA is committed to improving health outcomes and is working to reduce the incidence of cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes, which are often linked to obesity."

3. The FDA makes moves to ban trans fat from foods
One thing that can cause serious issues with a green coffee diet is the consumption of trans fat. Although several major cuisine manufacturers have already removed these unhealthy substances from their product lines on their own, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration made great strides to eliminate this unhealthy dietary source from grocery items in 2013. Moving forward, processed foods with partially hydrogenated oils will no longer be "generally recognized as safe" by the FDA, a classification needs to legally sell food in the U.S.
