Not everyone was born with the gift of a fast metabolism. For those of us who weren't, there's still hope. By adding these foods to your weight loss plan, you'll be able to speed things up the natural way and meet your goals.

Green Tea
Drinking green tea can burn up to 100 extra calories per day thanks to the antioxidants called catechins. There are several different brands and variations of green tea at the grocery store, so you'll be able to find one you like. Aim to drink about 24 ounces per day in order to get the maximum benefits, Shape Magazine suggested.

Naringenin, an antioxidant in grapefruit, will help your body use its insulin more efficiently. The antioxidant will also help you keep your blood sugar where it should be and burn more calories. If you don't like the taste of grapefruit on its own, consider adding it to your salads for that little extra kick.

Hot peppers
Believe it or not, spicy foods will actually increase your body's metabolism naturally. Add hot peppers like jalapenos and cayenne peppers to your diet to get your adrenaline pumping. Adrenaline works to stimulate your metabolism and will increase the number of calories you burn. Capsaicin is what's found in the peppers that help to get your metabolism going. If you aren't a pepper person, opt for dried mustard or chili powder for the same effect.

Rolled Oats
Breakfast is an essential part of not only helping you lose weight but also helping to naturally speed up your metabolism. Having something in your stomach will increase your energy and control your appetite. Start your day off with some rolled oats. They'll prevent you from getting hungry and since they take more energy to digest you'll also burn more calories.

The omega-3 fatty acids found in tuna, salmon, mackerel, herring and sardines stimulate your body's production of leptin. This hormone tells your body you're full and speeds up your metabolism.

Speed up your metabolism by consuming caffeine, in moderation. Drink up to two cups of coffee per day or another calorie-free beverage that contains caffeine. By consuming one cup of coffee you can temporarily increase your metabolism by 15 percent, according to Self Magazine.

You can combine these foods with the vitamin supplement raspberry ketone to regulate your metabolism and help burn body fat.
